What we collect, why, and what we don't.

Last updated: May 2026

The short version

Sprinkler Studio doesn't have a server. It talks directly to your irrigation controller on your home Wi-Fi. Your controller credentials and watering history stay on your device. The only data that ever leaves your phone is your approximate location — and only if you opt in to weather features — which is sent to a free public weather service (Open-Meteo) to fetch a forecast.

Permissions Sprinkler Studio asks for

Local Network

iOS requires apps to ask for permission to discover devices on your local network. Sprinkler Studio uses this to talk to your Rain Bird® controller (and to find it via the "Find controllers on my Wi-Fi" feature). It's never used to scan for other devices or report anything externally.

Location (optional)

If you tap Use my location on the home screen, the app reads your approximate location once and uses it to fetch a weather forecast. You can decline; the app then offers a manual zip-code entry instead. Either way, the location only goes to Open-Meteo, never to Sprinkler Studio.

Children

Sprinkler Studio is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data that could identify a child.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we'll update the date at the top and note the change. Since the app has no server, we can't push notifications about policy changes; please re-check this page if you want the latest.
